What is "TCS"?

TCS, whose full English name is Traction Control System, is also called traction control system. It is an anti-skid control system that determines whether the driving wheel is slipping based on the number of revolutions of the driving wheel and the number of revolutions of the transmission wheel. When the former is greater than the latter, it suppresses the speed of the driving wheel. It is very similar to the ABS mode of action, both of which use sensors and brake regulators.

When TCS senses wheel slippage, it will first change the engine ignition time through the engine control computer, reduce the engine torque output or apply brakes on the wheel to prevent the wheel from slipping. If the slippage is very serious, the engine fuel supply system will be controlled. When TCS is in use, the gearbox will maintain a higher gear, and when the throttle is increased, it will avoid sudden downshifting to avoid more severe slippage. The biggest feature of TCS is that it uses the existing ABS system computer, transmission speed sensor and control engine and gearbox computer. Even if the spare tire is replaced, TCS can be accurately applied.

The difference between TCS and ABS is that ABS uses sensors to detect when a tire is about to lock, and then reduces the braking force of the wheel to prevent it from locking. It will quickly change the braking force to keep the wheel on the verge of being locked, while TCS mainly uses the engine ignition time, gearbox gear and fuel supply system to control the drive wheel slip.

TCS is very helpful for the stability of the car. When the car is driving on a slippery road, the drive wheel of a car without TCS is easy to slip when accelerating. If it is the rear wheel, it will cause a tailspin. If it is the front wheel, the direction of the car is easy to lose control, causing the car to deviate to one side. With TCS, the car can avoid or reduce this phenomenon when accelerating, and keep the car driving in the right direction. When TCS is used, the dashboard can show whether the ground is slipping. It has a control knob. If you want to enjoy the pleasure of your own control, you can turn off the system at the right time. When the car restarts, TCS will automatically release it.
