How to know if the rubber part at the end of the shock absorber is faulty?

The failure of the end rubber parts includes: breakage, slippage and rubber cracking.

1. Breakage: The rubber parts are damaged by abnormal extrusion and aging due to high temperature, etc.

Cause of damage: The shock absorber connector is not installed correctly or the temperature of the rubber parts exceeds the use requirements (maximum use temperature 80 degrees), causing rubber aging. This type of failure requires timely replacement of the shock absorber.

2.Slide out and shift: For the ear-type terminal, it means that the rubber part slides out of the ear. This type of fault requires timely replacement of the shock absorber。

3.Rubber cracking: The determination of rubber cracking and the degree of cracking is relatively complex and easy to be misjudged. The chassis paint is usually sprayed before the vehicle leaves the factory. At this time, the rubber parts on the shock absorber are easily sprayed with paint. After the paint dries, the surface of the rubber parts will have false cracks after being stressed, which are easily mistaken for rubber cracks. This type does not belong to shock absorber failure and does not need to be replaced.

When there are small cracks on the surface of the rubber parts, it does not affect the continued use and does not need to be replaced. However, when large and deep cracks appear, the rubber parts cannot be used any more and need to be replaced.
