How to replace the ZF retarder filter element?

Drain the oil before changing the filter element

Use a new filter element at every oil change

1. Remove the two bolts (4) from the filter element

2. Remove the filter element (3) from the retarder

3. Lubricate the O-ring (3.1) on the new filter element (3)

4. Insert the filter element (3) into the retarder housing

5. Tighten the two bolts (4)

Tightening torque 23±2 Nm
