The determination of oil leakage is relatively complicated. There are actually two types of oil leakage: false oil leakage and oil leakage.
There are two manifestations of false oil leakage: the first manifestation is oil stains on the outside of the dust cover. This is the result of oil stains from the external environment sticking to the dust cover; the other manifestation is partial oil stains on the upper part of the outer cylinder, as shown in the figure. After wiping it dry, wipe it again after two weeks. After wiping it dry twice, the oil stains will no longer appear. This is the result of the connecting rod lubricating grease overflowing due to heat, which is a normal phenomenon. The purpose of using connecting rod lubricating grease is to reduce the friction of the connecting rod during movement, so that the shock absorber reacts more sensitively in the high frequency band. These two false oil leaks do not need to be replaced.

Oil leakage symptoms: 1. The oil stain is very wet and there is no sign of drying; 2. The oil stain on the outer cylinder is obvious and has a tendency to develop; as time goes by, the entire outer cylinder is covered with shock absorber working oil, as shown in the figure. 3. Damping force failure. After disassembling the oil-leaking shock absorber, do a dynamometer test or compare the tensile damping force with the good shock absorber of the same model. The damping force of the oil-leaking shock absorber is less than that of the good product. The damping force of the oil-leaking shock absorber is obviously attenuated and failed.

Consequences of oil leakage: Oil leakage is a gradual process, during which the damping force gradually decreases and the vibration reduction function gradually weakens, which will affect the use of the vehicle under certain conditions. This kind of oil leakage shock absorber must be replaced
